Rajan Ghosh

Rajan is a PhD student at the Centre for Sustainability under the School of Geography with an award of University of Otago Doctoral Scholarship. He completed Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Geography and Environment from Jagannath University, Bangladesh. Rajan’s PhD research focuses on climate-induced migration from the Pacific to New Zealand. He is interested to understand the dilemma between climate migrants and host communities in their intersection. As part of his doctoral research, he is looking at the opportunities and challenges of the pasifika climate-induced migrants in accessing the health services in their international destinations more specifically in New Zealand. Rajan believes that ensuring livelihoods security of climate migrants is a global responsibility.
